WORLD EGG DAY is taking place on 14 October, a unique opportunity to share the versatility and nutritional quality of eggs across the globe.
The International Egg Commission pulls together resources and information that will help people celebrate egg consumption each year, encouraging all to use the hashtag #WorldEggDay
It has a wealth of resources and a toolkit for the whole egg industry to help people celebrate on its website.
These include press release templates, graphics to share on social media and details of celebrations worldwide.
Eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. One large egg provides 13 essential vitamins and minerals and 6g of protein.
Many nutrients found in eggs are commonly under-consumed yet are required as part of a healthy diet to help you perform at your best and avoid serious health issues.
Essential nutrients include choline, supporting brain development and function; vitamin A for eye health, healthy skin and immune function; and vitamin D, which plays an essential role in bone health.
Eggs are also packed with high-quality protein, essential for the strength and repair of muscle and tissue.
The NFU has also produced a number of resources to help farmers and others in the UK celebrate eggs.
It too has created a suite of shareable content to help members showcase the British poultry industry on social media, covering both the egg and poultry sectors.
“From employing more than 100,000 people to creating the ingredients of the food we all love, British poultry farmers have a lot to be proud of. Help us share and showcase the great story that British farmers have to tell.”
Happy World Egg Day from the entire team at Poultry.Network!
