2 SISTERS FOOD GROUP has said it is hoping to employ 500 people to its largest poultry processing centre in Scunthorpe.

It follows 800 new roles already created at the site in the past 12 months.

The site currently has 1,800 staff and processes 1.3 million birds a week.

In 2018, 2 Sisters announced a £45m investment to upgrade its Scunthorpe processing facility.

The new positions are both temporary and permanent, and successful applicants will start on £355/week.

Jobs available include quality assurance, label checkers, machine minders and filleters.

A spokesman for the Scunthorpe site said: “We are delighted to be able to offer these additional roles, especially at a time when the economy and jobs in the Lincolnshire region have been badly affected by the pandemic.

“We’re here to help feed the nation because we play a critical role in ensuring poultry products are enjoyed across the UK, and we can offer some great job opportunities.

“We have many success stories about people who have developed some great careers, so there’s always opportunity to progress and develop for those who are ambitious.”
