Screening finds no new H3N1 cases

A MONTH-LONG screening programme for H3N1 in Belgium has found no positive test results, according to the country’s farming association.

The monitoring took place on more than 550 broiler and turkey farms in September.

Belgian Farmers’ Association adviser Wouter Wytynck said the situation had normalised, but urged continued vigilance. “We keep our finger on the pulse and advise poultry farmers to keep a close eye on biosecurity,” he told local media.

Affected poultry farms are now actively repopulating sheds, he added.
