KELLY TURKEYS has said it will expand into charcuterie and slow-cooked turkey products as it announces two new appointments.
Toby Kelly – grandson of the business founders Derek and Mollie Kelly – will be focusing on launching new charcuterie and slow-cooked products.
Since graduating from Newcastle University, Toby spent more than two years working for BMW Group and a further 18 months with PayByPhone.
The charcuterie products will utilise and add value to by-products from Christmas production and the turkeys used in the breeding programme.
“Traditionally, this has been sold off to meat wholesalers and the pet food industry.
“Developing our new products will not only add value but give us an all-year, consumer-orientated product to complement our Christmas offering,” he said.
Kelly’s has also announced the appointment of India Wellings, who joins the firm’s management team in the agricultural side of the business.
India Wellings stayed on at Writtle College, Chelmsford, after completing her studies and progressed to a farm manager role responsible for a breeding flock of ewes, herd of cattle, grassland management and the arable contract.
She has also made a name for herself in athletics and gymnastics, representing Essex in many competitions and Great Britain in acro-display gymnastics.
