Competition probe opened for Boparan purchase of Banham Poultry

Banham Poultry

COMPETITION authorities have opened an investigation into the purchase of Banham Poultry by 2 Sisters Food Group owner Boparan Private Office.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) issued an initial enforcement order regarding the transaction in early November.

It will seek to determine whether the transaction will result in a ‘substantial lessening of competition within the market.

While the investigation is underway, the two entities cannot integrate and must continue to operate independently.

Deadlines for concluding the investigation have not yet been set, but representations can be made on the CMA website.

The Boparan Private Office was contacted for comment.
