AVIAGEN has restructured its European veterinary team, announcing the appointment of two new vets.

Charlotte Commins joins the genetics giant from Slate Hall Veterinary Practice, and Scott Dawson joins the team after most recently working at Poultry Health Services.

Ms Commins has seven years of experience in commercial poultry production and holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College in London.

Mr Dawson moved to the UK in 2018. Before this, he worked for a large integrated poultry company in Australia and New Zealand.

He holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Massey University, New Zealand.

Aviagen’s Colin Adams has been named veterinary health director for Europe.

Blake Williamson, general manager of Aviagen UK, said: “We welcome Charlotte and Scott and are confident they will be a great complement to our team of dedicated experts who truly care about bird health and welfare and helping our customers feed their communities.

“To ensure comprehensive care of all generations, the team will alternate between our Pedigree, Great Grandparent, Grandparent and hatcheries, and all will help facilitate a safe and secure export process.
