Dominic Smith is to become Cobb-Vantress’s general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), as part of a leadership transition ahead of Roy Mutimer’s retirement in 2027.

Mr Mutimer, currently vice-president of EMEA and Asia-Pacific (APAC), will continue supporting both regions during the handover, working closely with the incoming leadership team.

Mr Smith will report to Will Sawyer, currently vice-president of global business operations, who will take responsibility for EMEA and APAC while retaining oversight of Cobb’s IT, planning and strategy functions.

Youngho Hong will become general manager for APAC, also reporting to Mr Sawyer.

Paying tribute to Mutimer, Cobb president Shelby Watkins said: “Roy’s leadership has helped strengthen Cobb’s presence across EMEA and APAC and has contributed significantly to our success around the world.

Impact on business

“We are grateful for his many contributions and the impact he has made on our business, our customers and our people over the course of his career.”

Mr Sawyer said he had worked closely with leaders across both regions and welcomed the opportunity to take on the expanded role.

“I’m especially excited to partner with Dominic and Youngho, whose deep market knowledge, strong customer relationships and proven leadership make them exceptionally well-positioned to lead their respective regions.”

He added that customer demand and confidence in Cobb’s products were creating opportunities for growth across EMEA and APAC.

“The environment is right for increased investment in capacity, capabilities, people and strategic partnerships that will help us better serve our customers and support their growth ambitions,” he said.
