A FIRE at a small poultry farm in North Wales has killed 2,000 birds.
It happened shortly before 10.30 on 12 July at the farm near Prion, near Denbigh, Denbighshire when overhead heat lamps ignited cardboard flooring inside the building.
The fire spread to a second shed containing about 2,000 chickens, and it was reported that 12 gas cylinders were involved in the blaze’s spread.
Environmental protection officers were called to the scene, where four fire engines from Denbigh, Deeside, St Asaph and Abergele spent more than three hours tackling the fire.
