Free Range Egg Production Manager – Elliott Eggs Ltd

Elliott Eggs Ltd is a family-run egg production and packing centre business based in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

We are focused on the production of high-quality, free-range eggs for onward sales to our broad customer base, with continual high welfare of all our flocks meeting BEIC/RSPCA Lion standards.

Due to further expansion, we now require a knowledgeable, enthusiastic Farm Production Manager with at least two years’ of experience working with poultry to take over the hands-on role of managing our units.

As Farm Production Manager you will be responsible for

  • Both working with and providing leadership and instruction to the egg production staff ensuring the highest level of bird welfare and cleanliness.
  • Planning and managing staff rotas/weekends and holiday cover and when necessary undertaking this yourself.
  • Managing your own and other staff time to include some unsociable hours.
  • Ensuring the highest level of biosecurity and hygiene standards throughout.
  • Travelling between the units within a 20 miles radius of the main farm.
  • Ensuring staff are trained to Lion Passport .
  • Maintaining all records to meet Lion, APHA and RSPCA standards
  • Monitoring flock performance with records given to management on weekly basis.
  • Carrying out audits with the assessor ensuring all standards are met prior to audit.
  • Testing of birds for salmonella and vaccinating when necessary
  • Covering maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Engaging with external contractors for annual assessments and regular repairs.
  • Keeping abreast of industry changes and standards and implementing where improvements can be made.
  • Inspiring a positive attitude and dealing with any day to day staff challenges which may occur.
  • Relieving management of all associated duties



  • Minimum 2 years experience working with poultry.
  • Monday to Friday working (ensuring weekend cover and availability where appropriate)
  • Willingness to relocate to or near YO25 8DX Bewhome Driffield (Near Hornsea)

Licences/Certification advantageous for the role are:

  • Telehandler licence
  • Food hygiene certificate
  • Health and Safety experience/Qualification
