LANXESS has completed its acquisition of health and biosecurity specialist Theseo.

The firm said in an update the transaction would strengthen its position in the growing animal hygiene market.

Lanxess said its portfolio of products would now comprise an “extensive” range of disinfection and hygiene solutions.

In addition, the specialty chemicals company is adding products for pest control and for animal nutrition and welfare.

The new businesses will be integrated into Lanxess’s Material Protection Products division.

Theseo has 100 employees across France, Germany, Brazil and the UK with revenues of around €33m, and EBITDA in the “mid-single-digit million euro range”.
