MEHTA HOLDINGS, the parent company of Salisbury Poultry, has recorded higher turnover but lower profits in the year to 31 December 2018, when compared with the previous period.

Sales grew from £113m to £118m over the period, but pre-tax profits were lower, at £2.9m compared with £4.5m in 2017.

The strategic report says it expected turnover in the group to grow in 2019, and that the group had performed “financially, operationally and strategically in line with management expectations”.

“The director plans to at least maintain such a standard of performance going forward, given the risks and opportunities posed by the current climate,” it adds.

Salisbury Poultry is a Wolverhampton-based poultry processor with a sister company, Maelor Foods, which has a processing plant just outside Wrexham, North Wales.
