AVIAGEN gave 233 Ross 420 awards to 105 farmers in Moy Park’s supply chain in a recent awards ceremony covering 2019 and 2020.
The Ross 420 Award recognises producers that achieve top performance on their farms, namely a European Production Efficiency Factor (EPEF) score of more than 420.

EPEF is an equation used to measure the technical performance of a broiler flock and takes into consideration the feed conversion ratio (FCR), liveability (life expectancy), live weight and slaughter age of the bird.
In 2019 the score that made producers eligible for the award was lifted from 400 to 420, recognising improvements in bird genetics and animal husbandry.
The latest Moy Park producers were given their awards in a virtual ceremony in December.
‘Proud’
Aviagen UK technical service manager, Kieron Daniels, said: “We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of these star growers.
“They are a shining example of the performance heights possible when dedication and teamwork are combined with skilful stockmanship and attention to detail.”
John Harrison, Moy Park’s live operations manager, added: “We thank these winners for their passion and talent and are grateful for this opportunity to celebrate their achievements.”
