THE ONLINE forums from the organisers of the Pig & Poultry Fair are now available online for those who missed the live events.

On 14 May, 9 online technical and outlook forums took place geared at giving poultry, pig and egg farmers insight into trends in both the market and production.

There were close to 1,000 people registered, and each forum averaged about 300 viewers, the organisers said.

All sectors featured an outlook session. For poultrymeat producers the technical forums included a look at on-farm hatching and experiences with slow-grown poultry.

And the egg sector looked at water quality and carbon footprints.

The physical Pig & Poultry Fair is set to take place next year on 10 and 11 May in Stoneleigh Park.

Event organiser Alice Bell said: “Keeping abreast of changing market conditions, new technology, and the latest advice will be essential.

“I hope that by bringing the industry together we’ve shared ideas and helped farmers to build their businesses for the future, and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the physical Pig & Poultry Fair in May 2022.”
