POULTEC TRAINING has expanded its poultry training provision with the launch of new on-demand eLearning courses and an Assessment First route for the Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Agriculture.
Having delivered poultry training for almost 30 years, Poultec already supports farms and poultry businesses through tutor-led short courses, work-based diplomas, apprenticeships and sector-specific training. These latest developments reflect the provider’s continued commitment to offering flexible training solutions that meet the needs of modern poultry businesses.

The newly developed eLearning courses have been designed to support busy farm teams with accessible, industry-focused training that can be completed anytime, anywhere and on any device. This gives employers greater flexibility when onboarding new starters, refreshing existing knowledge or supporting compliance with assurance scheme requirements.
The first courses available include Farm Hygiene and Biosecurity, Environmental Awareness, Poultry Welfare – Broilers, and Poultry Welfare – Turkey Growing. Each course covers practical knowledge relevant to day-to-day poultry operations, including welfare monitoring, bird health, environmental management, disease prevention, cleaning and disinfection procedures, waste reduction and legislative requirements.
The courses are Poultry Passport-approved, helping businesses meet recognised training requirements while reducing the need for staff to attend scheduled classroom or webinar-based sessions.
For employers, one of the key benefits of on-demand eLearning is the ability to train staff with minimal disruption to farm operations. Learners can complete the training at a time and pace that suits them, while still accessing high-quality content designed specifically for the poultry sector.
Assessment first
Alongside its new eLearning offer, Poultec has also introduced an Assessment First route for the Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Agriculture.
This option is designed for experienced poultry staff who already have the knowledge and competence required to achieve the qualification and do not require the full taught programme. It provides a shorter, assessment-led route for those who can evidence their existing skills against the qualification criteria.
The approach follows confirmation from the British Poultry Training Group that an Assessment First Diploma route can be used where experienced staff are able to demonstrate the required level of competence. Where gaps in knowledge or evidence are identified, learners will be required to complete additional training and reassessment at an additional cost.
The Assessment First route is available for eligible learners enrolling from July, providing another flexible option for poultry businesses looking to support staff development and meet industry training expectations.
Standard diploma
Poultec will continue to offer its Standard Diploma route, which combines structured training with assessment, as well as the apprenticeship pathway which can be funded for eligible learners.
By combining almost three decades of poultry training experience with new digital learning options and flexible qualification routes, Poultec is helping poultry businesses access the training they need in a way that works for their teams.
