2 SISTERS founder Ranjit Boparan and his family have had their wealth estimated at over £1bn for the first time.

This year the rich list puts the owners of 2 Sisters Food Group at 153 in the list.

It cites their ownership of 2 Sisters Food Group as well as the restaurant chains Giraffe and Carluccio’s as the sources of the family’s wealth.

Boparan Holdings Ltd’s most recent financial report, for the 52 weeks to 27 July 2024, put turnover at just over £3bn with an operating profit of £101.3m – both figures improvements on the year earlier.

Progress

In the directors’ review, Mr Boparan said: “I’m pleased to report strong financial progress over the past 12 months. It is progress achieved following ten years of hard work and effort to right-size the group, concentrate on our core business and stabilise our operations.

“This year saw growth in sales and profit and much-strengthened financial position, with the group’s leverage ratio at its lowest level in over a decade.”

In April, Mr Boparan ran the London Marathon for the first time, raising £140,000 to be split between four charities:

  • British Heart Foundation
  • The Boparan Charitable Trust
  • Martins Hospice
  • Assist Resettlement & Renaissance
