READY EGG PRODUCTS has launched the UK’s first modern egg drying plant, enabling manufacturers using egg powder to choose British Lion for the first time.
The British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) welcomed the new launch, saying it complemented a wide range of Lion egg products now available to manufacturers.

The introduction of British egg powder also further helps to meet consumer demand for British eggs in prepared foods.
Ready Egg Products commissioned its powdered egg facility in 2022, the only of its kind in the UK and Ireland.
A survey suggested that 70% of shoppers would be more likely to buy egg-based food products that display the British Lion mark.
Food safety
Mark Williams, BEIC chairman, said: ‘When it comes to food standards, there’s no equivalent to the Lion.
“That’s what makes the launch of British Lion egg powder such fantastic news for food manufacturers.
“Now, for the first time, all major types of egg products, produced to Lion standards, are available, meaning companies can specify British Lion eggs across their full product range, providing reassurance on food safety, and meeting consumer demand for the British Lion, the UK’s most recognised and respected food quality mark.”
