SKEA EGGS grew turnover but had lower pre-tax profits in its last financial year.

The Northern Ireland-based egg packer posted sales of £68.4m in the 12 months to 31 December, compared with £66.7m the year before.

Pre-tax profits were £2.7m, compared with £3.1m in 2017.

In the directors’ report, the firm says it enjoyed “another successful year”.

“The company will continue to seek new sales opportunities in the coming year, although the egg market and the retail environment is changing, and the company expects sales revenues and margins to be subdued in the coming year.”
