ANIMAL RIGHTS activists organised a flash protest after a lorry carrying broilers crashed on a roundabout.

The incident happened in late September, just off the M25 near St Albans.

Police and the RSPCA attended the scene, and the lorry was righted and birds collected over the course of the day.

It follows two similar incidents where lorries carrying broilers have overturned, one in Staffordshire in early September and one in West Mercia in late August.

In this latest incident, animal rights activists gathered at the crash site and criticised the police and RSPCA.

On a video posted on her Instagram Story, Jacqueline Webster wrote: “I am not screaming for no reason we just witnessed birds being torn apart when we stated the injured had a forever home at an animal sanctuary.”
