ForFarmers has reported a sharp rise in annual profit following the completion of a business reorganisation and an improvement in margins.

The company made £14.8m after tax in the year to 31 December 2025, up from £4.3m in the previous year. Turnover increased more modestly to £625m.

In its strategic report, ForFarmers said: “In 2025, the reorganisation in the United Kingdom was completed, which was initiated to bring the cost base more in line with the activities.”

It added that the changes had “led to a significant improvement in profitability and laid a healthy foundation for the future”.

Asset disposals also contributed to the headline result. The company recorded £6m of gains from fixed-asset sales during the year, including the disposal of its Burston feed plant and Horizon House office.

Operational efficiency

However, the accounts also show a marked improvement in gross margin, indicating that the increase in profitability was not solely the result of property and asset sales.

ForFarmers said the next stage of its strategy would include further operational efficiencies.

“The coming years, we will focus on further optimising the logistics process within ForFarmers,” the strategic report said.

The company is also seeking to make its cost base “more flexible”, allowing it to respond more quickly to “changing market conditions – growth or contraction”.
